How to Use Knowledges in Practice

If a persona needs to reference a specific book, document, or database, you can add that source to its Knowledge repository.

Example: A legal advisor persona can be provided with a legal textbook or a database of regulations to ensure it delivers precise legal information.

Types of Knowledge and Their Purpose

Knowledge assets serve two distinct purposes and are assigned accordingly:

Social Knowledge

Supports the persona’s social interactions and conversational depth.

Where It’s Added: Character

Examples:

  • Historical or cultural knowledge to enhance personality.

  • Literature or philosophy references for engaging discussions.

  • General trivia for casual conversations.

Business Knowledge

Supports the persona in fulfilling its professional or functional role.

Where It’s Added: Role

Examples:

  • Company policies and product details for customer service personas.

  • Medical research papers for a healthcare assistant persona.

  • Financial market reports for an investment advisor persona.

By categorizing and assigning Knowledge correctly, the persona can deliver responses that are contextually appropriate and aligned with its intended function.
